Texting Terms

The terms for text messages Daobook sends to phones in the United States.

Last updated 6 November 2026

These terms cover text messages (SMS) sent through Daobook, a service of Emba Digital Pty Ltd trading as Daobook, to phones in the United States. They sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Notice.

1. Messages to practitioners and staff

When you choose a text message as your second sign-in step, Daobook texts a six-digit code to the mobile number you entered each time you sign in from a device it does not recognise. If you turn on Team booking SMS under Settings → Notifications & Templates → My Notifications, Daobook texts you when a team member books into your diary. These messages come from Daobook's own US toll-free number. Message frequency varies with how often you sign in and how often your team books; each code and each alert is one message.

2. Messages to patients

A clinic sends its patients appointment reminders, confirmations, intake-form links, waiting-list offers and replies through Daobook, from a number registered in the clinic's own name. The clinic is the sender: it collects the patient's consent, each of its texts names the clinic, and its texting is covered by the clinic's own privacy policy, which includes the section Daobook adds about these messages.

3. Consent and opting out

You agree to receive Daobook's texts when you enter your mobile number and choose text message codes, or turn on a text alert. Consent is never pre-ticked and is not a condition of using Daobook: an authenticator app or a passkey works as the second step instead.

  • Reply STOP to any text to stop messages from that number.
  • Reply START to receive them again.
  • Reply HELP for help.

You can also turn text message codes off under Settings → Security and the alert off under Settings → Notifications & Templates → My Notifications. If you reply STOP to the number that sends your sign-in codes, sign in with your authenticator app, passkey or a recovery code and choose another second step.

4. Rates and carriers

Message and data rates may apply under your mobile plan. Delivery depends on your carrier and network, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

5. Privacy

What Daobook holds about you, and how text messages are handled, is set out in our Privacy Notice. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
